Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Ruard Ganzevoort, and I am Professor of Practical Theology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. My main areas of interest are pastoral theology and psychology, psychology of religion, narrative approaches, trauma, and professialism. I have published or edited 14 books and some 80 scientific or professional publications. I was president of the International Academy of Practical Theology from 2007-2009 and am now preparing its 2011 conference. With my partner, I also run a small hotel in the city of Utrecht.

	In 2006 I published a book (in Dutch), partly based on my inaugural address, De hand van God en andere verhalen. Over veelkleurige vroomheid en botsende beelden ('The hand of God and other stories. On multicolour piety and conflicting images').  Zoetermeer: Meinema 2006, 170 pages, paperback € 14, 90.
	2007 brought Zorg voor het verhaal. Achtergrond, methode en inhoud van pastorale begeleiding ('Care for the story. Background, method and content of pastoral care'). This narratively oriented book is an introduction to the field for students and an enrichment for experienced pastors. Written together with my teacher Jan Visser. Zoetermeer: Meinema 2007, 420 pages, hardcover € 37,50.
	In june 2010 we expect the publication of Adam en Evert, about the tensions between religion and homosexuality. I wrote it together with two former studentes, Mark van der Laan and Erik Olsman.  Kampen: Ten Have 2010, 160 pages, paperback € .
	Later this year I hope to publish Breuken en bronnen. Omgaan met crisis, trauma en spiritualiteit. ('Gaps and sources. Crisis, trauma, and spirituality'). In this book, intended for a wider audience, I will explore the interaction between crises and spirituality and spiritual models for responding to crises. Zoetermeer: Meinema 2009, 128 pages, paperback € 14,90.
